PBS Great Performances: Remember This Starring David Strathairn

Streaming until Wednesday, April 30 for FREE.

Oscar nominee and stage vet David Strathairn stars in the powerful one-man play Remember This about Jan Karski, a Polish World War II hero and Holocaust witness, who risked his life to deliver intel about the Warsaw ghetto to the Allied Nations. It's a role Strathairn knows well: He's been playing Karski since 2015 when he headlined the ensemble play My Report to the World, which the writers Clark Young and Derek Goldman transformed into this solo show in 2019. Since then, Strathairn has performed the piece on stage at Georgetown University (where Karski studied and taught for decades), in London, Washington, DC and at Brooklyn's Theatre for a New Audience. This filmed version of the show was captured in black and white, and is accompanied by the 20-minute documentary Remembering Jan Karski that explores the ongoing relevance of his harrowing story.

The Huntington: The Triumph of Love

Streaming until May 4 starting at $30.

Boston's celebrated Huntington Theatre recently presented an acclaimed in-person production of The Triumph of Love and now you can watch a recording at home. Pierre Carlet de Marivaux's 18th-century romantic comedy centers on a smart princess who must disguise herself to win the man of her dreams. Mistaken identities and kooky complications ensue.

Sunday in the Park with George Starring Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin

Streaming for FREE.

Revisit the glorious original Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Sunday in the Park with George about the art of making art, which you can watch at no cost courtesy of Streaming Musicals. In Act I, Mandy Patinkin is a fictionalized version of Georges Seurat as he struggles to complete his masterpiece, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte." Bernadette Peters, who's currently back on Broadway singing Sondheim, is the woman who inspires him. Act II is all about the '80s art scene. A brilliant show that's also a bit of a time capsule, though its observations about the challenges of creating are timeless.
