When we brought Oscar-nominated actress Marsha Mason and Tony-winning director Jack O'Brien together for a video chat, we had no idea it would feel like eavesdropping on a private conversation. But after five decades of working together (they met doing regional theatre in the '70s), these two aren't just friends, they're chosen family. They refuse to self-censor—even when the camera's rolling! They had lots to say about the history of the American theatre industry, their successes and failures, and their fabulous friendship.
