With theatres around most of the world closed, our in-person industry has been scrambling to adapt to a virtual world. Many companies and stage artists have been sharing their work online, and theatre sites (including TDF Stages) have been publishing carefully curated roundups of what to watch. But if you want many more theatre-related options, behold Thespie, a new U.K.-based website that lists live-streams, filmed performances, movie musicals, audio dramas, TV shows, podcasts, talk shows and even classes.

Featuring more than 1,000 listings with new ones being added every day, Thespie would feel overwhelming if it weren't for its filters. You can search for programs by price, genre, mood and even platform since the site includes what's available on paid streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. In terms of spotlighting an incredible array of English-language virtual theatre programming, it's hard to beat.

Of course, it doesn't include everything. Only a handful of live-streams are listed, even though lauded companies in NYC (MCC Theater, Theatre for a New Audience, Red Bull Theater) and London (Donmar Warehouse) have been doing some great live performances. And few U.S. regional theatres or independent artists are represented. But if after reading our picks you want even more choices, it's worth giving Thespie a browse. After all, clicking through its listings is free.
