The 2019-20 Season brings 53 stunning works across 22 programs in a collection of choreography true to the heart of New York City Ballet – robust, eclectic, and boundary-breaking.

Enriched by George Balanchine’s belief that a successful performance goes beyond a mastery of the steps, we look toward the idea of dancers being, as he put it, “poets of gesture” – channeling both choreographic intention and their own artistic identities into every movement. Invite this poetry into your life by joining us during the coming year.

A generous offering of world premieres come from Principal Dancer Lauren Lovette, former NYCB Soloist and current BalletMet Artistic Director Edwaard Liang, Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, American Ballet Theatre Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, acclaimed NY-based choreographer Pam Tanowitz, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater dancer and Resident Choreographer Jamar Roberts.
