Julia Rae Maldonado's turbulent new play, Muses, makes its way to the stage this spring. Emily, a New York painter, discovers her husband has been in a relationship with a 16-year-old when Grace shows up at her studio wanting to sit for a painting. The two wrestle with the cost of speaking up and the cost of the "Truth". Is art activism or the illusion of activism? Theatre East presents this world premiere at their newly-acquired Court Square Theater (formerly Astoria Performing Arts Center).
