Singer-dancers Chris Giarmo and Tendayi Kuumba talk about burning down the house on Broadway

David Byrne may be the rock star in the title, but on stage in American Utopia he shares the spotlight with his backup singer-dancers Chris Giarmo and Tendayi Kuumba. The two deliver gorgeous harmonies and provocative movements while flanking the front man, and their fabulous personalities shine through even though they never speak. Offstage, however, the duo has a lot to say. TDF brought these downtown divas together for an intimate conversation about what they've learned from working with the music icon, how the show plays differently in 2021 and why they love performing in bare feet.
