Here Lies Love recently arrived on Broadway, but Conrad Ricamora and Melody Butiu have been with this immersive disco musical since it premiered downtown at The Public Theater in 2013. Directed by Moulin Rouge! The Musical Tony winner Alex Timbers and featuring songs by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, the show traces the rise and fall of former Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos. It's an exhilarating, one-of-a-kind experience as the audience literally dances alongside the actors. We brought Ricamora and Butiu together to chat about their respective Here Lies Love journeys, their craziest audience interactions and what it's like to make history as part of the first all-Filipino cast on Broadway.
