Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we're continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, September 13 to Sunday, September 15, for free or at low cost.

The Green Room 42: House on Fire

Live-streaming Sunday, September 15 at 7 p.m. ET for $26.

Musical theatre vet Gretchen Cryer, whose shows include Broadway's Shelter and the feminist favorite I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road, debuts her latest project, House on Fire in a concert presentation. A cautionary fairy tale, the musical centers on 13-year-old Sophia, who's upset about the climate crisis, especially because her dad's fossil fuel company is a huge part of the problem! Cryer collaborated with Gracie Hyland on this timely tuner, which stars the show's creators along with Tony nominee Kenita R. Miller. Live-streaming directly from The Green Room 42 in Midtown. If you prefer to attend in person, click here for info.

Emma

Streaming all weekend for FREE.

Tony-nominated Jane Eyre songwriter Paul Gordon is known for his musicals based on literary classics, and you can watch many of them on Streaming Musicals. Last week, we told you about his song-filled adaptations of Jane Austen's beloved novels Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. This week we're highlighting his take on Austen's Emma, which resets the story in a small English town in 1961, as the title character ill-advisedly tries to play matchmaker for everyone in her orbit. But will she find a love of her own? Broadway vet Kelli Barrett (Parade, Wicked) stars in this stage-cinema hybrid, which was filmed at Off Broadway's Westside Theatre but has the feel of a movie musical.

Burning Man: The Musical
