Our curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this holiday weekend, Friday, February 14 to Monday, February 17, for free or at low cost.

In 2020, London's lauded National Theatre launched its own streaming service. New to the roster is Waitress: The Musical, which was filmed live on Broadway in 2021 with its Tony-nominated co-creator Sara Bareilles in the leading role of Jenna, a pregnant server and aspiring baker who finds passion and her purpose. Christopher Fitzgerald, Drew Gehling, Charity Angél Dawson and Caitlin Houlahan costar. It's free to watch if you buy a subscription and captions are available. Catch this critically acclaimed opera based on Lynn Nottage's eponymous play. Filmed live onstage at Lincoln Center Theater in 2022, the work centers on a lonely African-American seamstress (Kearstin Piper Brown) searching for love and fulfillment in turn-of-the-20th-century New York. Composer Ricky Ian Gordon (Orpheus & Euridice, Morning Star) actually approached the two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright about collaborating on transforming her script into a sung-through piece. Tony winner Bartlett Sher (South Pacific, My Fair Lady) directs.
