Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we're continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, December 13 to Sunday, December 15, for free or at low cost.


National Theatre at Home: Prima Facie Starring Jodie Comer

Streaming starting Thursday, December 12 for $10.

In 2020, London's lauded National Theatre launched its own streaming service featuring professional stage captures of its productions. While you can buy a subscription, shows are also available to rent individually. New to the roster is Prima Facie, Suzie Miller's one-woman play about a defense lawyer (Jodie Comer, who won a Tony Award for reprising her searing West End performance on Broadway), who feels invincible until she becomes a victim herself. Recorded live on stage in London in 2022, the production was directed by Justin Martin. A 72-hour rental costs $10 and captions are available. National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene: A Celebration of Jewish Pride and Creativity

Streaming until midnight on Friday, December 13 for FREE

National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, the world's oldest Yiddish theatre, streams a recent concert that was recorded live on stage celebrating the future of Yiddishkayt. Participants include Cabaret Tony nominee Steven Skybell, who played Tevye in Folksbiene's Yiddish Fiddler, and Zalmen Mlotek, Folksbiene's artistic director and a leading figure in the Jewish theatre world.

George Street Playhouse: Gene & Gilda

Live-streaming Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, December 14 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. ET for $39. Ticket buyers can rewatch the performance for 24 hours after curtain.</p

New Jersey's George Street Playhouse is presenting an in-person production of Gene & Gilda and you can live-stream this weekend's performances at home courtesy of The League of Live Stream Theater. Written by Cary Gitter and directed by Joe Brancato (the team behind The Sabbath Girl), this two-hander chronicles the romance between late comedic stars Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner, from their initial laugh at first sight meeting to their personal and professional challenges to their tragic goodbye.

Live-streaming on Sunday, December 15 at 9:45 p.m. ET for $28.50

A raucous holiday favorite! Tony-nominated songwriter Joe Iconis and some of talented pals, including Broadway's Max Crumm, Annie Golden, Lauren Marcus and Will Roland, celebrate the season with festive new tunes, yuletide favorites and a whole lot of kooky Christmas spirit. Best known for his viral musical Be More Chill and his contributions to the cult TV show Smash, Iconis' concerts feel more like music-filled parties with catchy songs and hilarious stories.
