Tony Kushner's celebrated adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's parable centers on three Gods who descend upon the city of Setzuan looking for one good person. When Shen Te, an impoverished young woman, offers them shelter, they reward her beyond her wildest dreams. But her newfound fortune tests her generous nature. Director Justin Jain reinvents this insightful epic with live music and the talented members of the Wilma HotHouse Acting Company.

In 2020, London's lauded National Theatre launched its own streaming service featuring professional stage captures of its productions. While you can buy a subscription, shows are also available to rent individually. New to the roster is Ķīn, an acclaimed piece of devised physical theatre about a family that emigrates from Yemen to Palestine in 1932, and how that decision impacts future generations. Joel Paley and Marvin Laird's campy cult classic helped launch the careers of Britney Spears and Natalie Portman, and enjoyed a hit 2015 Off-Broadway revival. The hilarious tale of a talented 8 year old who will do anything, literally, to land the lead in her school musical, the show sends up classics including Gypsy, Mame and The Bad Seed. This production was filmed live on stage on the West End in 2019.
