Today The Broadway League officially announced that all Broadway shows are suspended through June 7 (the original date of the indefinitely postponed Tony Awards, to make matters even sadder). While many other major cultural institutions—including Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Opera and multiple Off-Broadway theatres—canceled their spring seasons weeks ago, Broadway's reopening date had been set for April 13 until this statement. A few hours after this announcement, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed skepticism about the June 7 reopening date, implying it could be later.
