The Alvin Ailey and Broadway vets talk about their friendship and the future of dance
---
Aubrey Lynch II and Desmond Richardson have known each other for decades. They studied and danced together at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and also appeared on Broadway, where Lynch performed in The Lion King and Richardson earned a Tony nomination for Fosse. TDF brought these longtime friends and colleagues together to reminisce about their Ailey years—including that time they met Grace Jones in Paris!—and to talk about how they've been staying creative during the pandemic and why they believe arts education is "extra-essential," not extracurricular. No wonder Lynch is a wonderful TDF mentor for our Wendy Wasserstein Project! If you weren't able to tune in live on our Facebook page, you can watch a recording of their inspiring conversation below.
