On Sunday, February 7, TDF’s Autism Theatre Initiative presented an autism-friendly performance of Wicked on Broadway. The Autism Theatre Initiative makes theatre accessible to children and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as their families.
To make this performance autism-friendly, TDF worked with Wicked to make slight adjustments to the show including the reduction of jarring sounds and lighting. In addition to these modifications to the show, there are also quiet and activity areas in the theatre lobby for audience members.
The next ATI performance is Aladdin on Broadway, 1 p.m., March 6, 2016. More ATI performances may be announced soon.
